Maryln Perez Bowlin, 72, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM, following an extended illness. She was born April 2, 1936 in Hobbs, NM to E.H. Estes and Myrle Roberts Estes. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe Bowlin. She is survived by her son, Frank Odel Perez of Fort Sumner, NM; daughters, Laree Estes Perez of Corrales, NM, and Diann Bowlin of Denver, CO; nieces, Nicki Burkett of Baird, TX, Tammi Key MacKeben of El Paso, TX, and Cali MacKeben of El Paso, TX; nephews, Robert Key of Phoenix, AZ, Mike MacKeben of El Paso, TX, and Austin MacKeben of El Paso, TX; her and her children's Perez family. She is further survived by special friends Gene and Fran Sena, Kenneth Argo and the devoted employees of the Old Fort Sumner Museum. Maryln and her husband Joe were dedicated to tourism in New Mexico and particularly the Legend of Billy the Kid. Services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, December 27, 2008 at First Methodist Church in Fort Sumner, NM, Kirbyjon Caldwell will be officiating. Interment will take place at Fort Sumner Cemetery.
