Lucy G Lucero

Lucy G. Lucero, age 61, passed away October 7, 2008 at the Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari following an illness. Lucy was born March 11, 1947 in Montoya, NM to the home of Alfredo and Mary Lopez Gonzales. She was a graduate of Tucumcari High School. Lucy married Ernest Lucero on September 30, 1967 in Muleshoe, TX. She worked as a Teachers Assistant for the Tucumcari Public Schools, she also worked at Gibson’s and most recently Kmart. Lucy was a member of St.Anne’s Church. She loved playing bingo and attending her grandchildren’s sports activities. Lucy is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband Ernest Lucero of the family home in Tucumcari, her daughters; Christine Montano and husband Dean of Tucumcari, Phyllis Burton of husband Lewis of Houston, TX, grandchildren; Samantha Montano, Krystal Montano and Angelo George Montano, her sister; Delfinia Preciado and husband Manuel of Tucumcari and well as her nieces, nephews and a host of relatives in Tucumcari and Santa Rosa. Cremation has taken place and rosary services will be held on Friday, October 10, at 7:00 from St. Anne’s Church. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11 at 10:00 AM also from St. Anne’s Church with Father Leo Padget officiating.
