Marie (Erven) Rich

Marie (Erven) Rich, 93 of Florence, Colorado died Thursday, October 23, 2008 in Florence. She was born May 15, 1915 in Pope County, Arkansas to the home of Frank C. Erven and the former Amanda A. Wooten. Marie was reared in Oklahoma and New Mexico. She made her home in Fort Sumner and Clovis for several years. Marie married Jack Rich on August 11, 1950 at Raton, NM. They made their home in Colorado in 1976. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Rich on Nov. 7, 2005; her parents and a brother Garlen Erven. Survivors include one sister Dorothy Cortese of Albuquerque, sisters-in-law Billie Erven of Canon City, CO; Edith Emerson of Colorado; Orabelle Yocum Jefferies of Texas; and Maxine Brackett of Oklahoma; along with several nieces, nephews other family and friends. Visitation hours will be Sunday from 2PM until 6PM and Monday from 9AM to 11AM at the Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner, NM. Graveside will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 27, 2008 from the Fort Sumner Cemetery with Anna Teeter officiating. Pallbearers will include Joe Rall, Jeff Pyle, Eddie Ratliff, Chuck Jones and Mike Cortese. All arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner, NM (575) 355-2311
