Ricky Stuart Coddington, 49 of Lubbock, TX died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center following an illness. Ricky was born June 4, 1958 in Dermott, Arkansas the son of Eugene L. and Myrtle (Parker) Coddington. He was raised and attended schools in New Mexico, Texas and Arkansas. While living in Fort Sumner Ricky worked for Ranchers Well Supply where he learned his welding and concrete skills. For several years Ricky worked in Grenada, Arkansas as a Machinist and Welder. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and reading. He made his home in Fort Sumner at different times, the last from 2002-2005. Ricky has had complications from his diabetes for several years. He was a resident of Southern Specialty Care Center in Lubbock, TX for the past three years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include four sisters Vickie Neece and husband Dee of Pep, NM; Margaret Taylor and husband Louis of Arkansas City, Arkansas; Sheila Coddington and Ted Dotson of Fort Sumner and Lori Baxley of Mount Vernon, Arkansas; two brothers Billy and wife Irene Coddington and David Coddington of Fort Sumner. Also surviving are 8 nieces and nephews along with a long time friend Melanie Carr of Laurel, Mississippi. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2008 from Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Robert Pennington, Joe Steele, Jerry Sparks, Richard Terrell, Bill Coddington and David Coddington. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 804 N.
