Adelaido Saiz, age 80, passed away November 15, 2005 in Albuquerque following an illness. Adelaido was born June 3, 1925 in Pintada, NM to the home of Abel and Eufelia Baca Saiz. He was a longtime cattle rancher and worked numerous years for Floyd Shaw and Phillip Craig at the River Ranch north of Santa Rosa. He made his home in Albuquerque in 1982. Adelaido loved to dance, sing, and the outdoors. He was very active in the Senior Citizens Organization. Adelaido served his country in the United States Army as a Private First Class. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dolores Barela Saiz, brothers and sisters; Abel Saiz Jr., Mary Ortega, Leo Saiz, Magdalena Saiz, Esther Alarid and Donato Saiz. Survivors include 13 children; Gilbert Saiz of Santa Rosa, Jane Garcia of Albuquerque, Mary Saiz of Santa Rosa, Frances Ulibarri and husband Thomas of Santa Rosa, Dolores Coronado of Edgewood, Joe Saiz and wife Tammy of Farmington, Raymond Saiz and wife Virginia of Peralta, Joann Gallegos of Albuquerque, Mary Ann Torres of Santa Rosa, Lorenzo Saiz of Las Vegas, NM, Robert Saiz and wife Maria of Albuquerque, Teresa Lopez of Santa Rosa and Annabelle Saiz of Clovis. He is also survived by a brother Frank Saiz and wife Faby of Santa Rosa; three sisters; Lola Saiz of Santa Rosa, Ramona Esquibel of California and Agnes Seidel of Santa Rosa, his mother-in-law Esmeralda Barela of Santa Rosa, 36 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, November 17, at 6:30 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 18, from St. Rose Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers wil be his grandsons; Moises Saiz, Robert Saiz Jr., Jimmy Jaramillo, Joseph Yawakee, Michael Lopez, Rex Saiz and Tibo Gallegos. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
