Betty B. Sanchez

Betty B. Sanchez, 73 of Corona, NM died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at her home following an illness. She was born July 9, 1936 in Corona to the home of Valentin and Timotea (Selgado) Baros. She was reared and attended school in Corona. She married Octaviano Sanchez on July 25, 1953. Betty worked for the Corona schools and the Senior Citizens Center for several years. She also worked as a Home Health Technician before her health declined. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Corona. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter Mary Ann Sanchez; five sisters Rosita Sanchez, Cecilia Flores, Ieta Encinias, Eva Gutierrez, Elvira Flores, Tobias Baros, Faustin Baros and Procopio Tafoya. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by her family. Survivors include her husband Octaviano Sanchez of the home in Corona; a son Lincoln Sanchez and wife Theresa of Moriarty; three daughters Gloria Madrid and husband Mike of Rio Rancho, NM; Sandra Jiron and husband Pat of Carrizozo, NM and Beverly Sanchez of Edgewood, NM. Also surviving is a brother Johnny Baros of Albuquerque, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Rosary services will be held on Monday, September 21, at 7:00 PM from St. Theresa Church in Corona. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 22, at 10:00 also from St. Theresa Church. Burial will follow at the Corona Cemetery. Servng as Pallbearers will be Norbert Chavez, Glenn Trujillo, Matthew Lucero, Mike Baros, Patrick Sanchez and Ernest Tapia.
