Lucille Tipton, age 95, passed away in Albuquerque on October 2, 2008. Lucille was the daughter of Dolores Patron Tipton and Albert Tipton of Santa Rosa, NM both of whom were pioneer families in New Mexico. Lucille attended Highlands University (known then as Normal University) in Las Vegas, NM where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught schools in Newkirk, Pastura, Puerto De Luna, and eventually in Santa Rosa as a second grade teacher where she retired after 52 years. Lucille is survived by her niece, Anna Womack and her husband Charles of Albuquerque; her great nephew Rian Collins and his wife Elizabeth of Parker, CO and their two children, Morgan and Riley Collins. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 4, at 11:00 AM from St. Joseph Cemetery with Deacon Marvin Marquez officiating.
