Frances Tooker, 84 a resident of Belen Health Care died Monday, June 19, 2000 following an illness. Mrs. Tooker was born June 2, 1916 in Roswell, NM to the home of Silas Beryl McClean and the former Daisy Esther Hill. She was reared and attended school at Yeso, NM. She worked at G.L. Hatcher General Store in Yeso and later at Teeter’s Department Store in Fort Sumner. She married John W. Tooker on December 25, 1941 in Fort Sumner. They made their home in Albuquerque in 1949 where they raised their four children. In 1967 they moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where they lived for over 30 years. Frances worked for The Paperback Bookworm in Twin Falls. She was a Sunday school teacher and member of Baptist Women at Eastside Southern Baptist Church in Twin Falls, ID until her health prevented her attendance. She made her home at Belen Health Care in 1998. Mrs. Tooker was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Bates D. McClean in 1989. Survivors include her husband John W. Tooker of Belen, NM; three sons William T. Tooker of Phoenix, Arizona; John S. Tooker and wife Maria of Rio Rancho, NM; James A. Tooker of Orlando, Florida; one daughter Mary K. Chandler and husband Leon of Orlando, FL. Other survivors include 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family prefers memorials, in memory of Frances Tooker, to the Missions Fund, Eastside Southern Baptist Church, 204 Eastland Drive N., Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.
