Memorial Services for Julius Crofton Teal, age 85 who died March 8, 2004 in Yuma, Arizona. Julius was born in Comanche, Texas on August 29, 1918 to the home of Jess Teal and the former Ada Dyson. Julius was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy from September 14, 1942 until his honorable discharge on November 4, 1945. He served with the Construction Battalion “See Bees” at Iwo Jima. Julius was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Sumner. He is survived by a son Richard Teal and wife Carlene of Pine Top, Arizona; three daughters Norma Moore and husband Wilford of El Paso, TX; Ruby Kitchens and husband Jerry of Albany, TX; Janet Moenk and husband Wes of Welton, AZ; eleven grandchildren, 24 Great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Martin of Seattle, WA and Clara Dyer of Hale Center, TX. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 1, 2004 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Sumner, NM with Sister Anna Teeter officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery, Fort Sumner, New Mexico. Local arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
