Leon Francisco Lopez, 46 of Corpus Christi, TX and formerly of Clovis died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi following an illness. Leon was born September 20, 1961 in Fort Sumner the son of Elicia Saiz and Leo Sena. He was raised in Clovis where he attended school He began working at age 15 as a carpet and tile installer a trade he continued for over 31 years. He was a past member of the NM National Guard - Clovis Unit. Leon enjoyed Tejano music, and spending time with his family. Leon made his home in Corpus Christi, TX in 1990. He was preceded in death by an infant brother Raul Lopez in 1956. Survivors include a daughter Francesca Lopez; two grandsons Joe Damien Duran and Enrique Vigil all Albuquerque; his mother Elicia Lopez of Clovis; six sisters Irene Chavez, Marcella Salinas, Juana Martinez, Janice Gavlik all of Clovis; Treva Lopez of Albuquerque; and Cindy Hernandez of Gainsville, TX; three brothers Rafael “Robert” Lopez of Carlsbad, Phillip Lopez of Clovis and Juan Lopez of Lubbock, TX along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from 1PM to 6PM at the funeral home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 10, 2008 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Coy Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Lorenzo Duran, David Duran, Ronnie Lopez, Eddie Cano, Tommy Marez, Nathan Montano, Joel Salinas and Rafael Lopez.
