Juanita Lovato, 72, of Fort Sumner, died Monday, May 22, 2000 at her home in Fort Sumner. Juanita was born November 29, 1927 in Fort Sumner to the home of Teodoro Lovato and the former Beneranda Gonzales. She was reared and attended school at Fort Sumner. After high school she moved to Los Angeles, California where she worked as an accountant with Security Pacific Bank until her retirement. She made her home in Fort Sumner in 1991. Juanita was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include three brothers Teodoro Lovato Jr. and his wife Tillie of Albuquerque; Gilberto Lovato and his wife Rebecca of Los Angeles, CA; Enrique Lovato and wife Estella; one sister Martha Sena and husband George all of Fort Sumner. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2000 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Church at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 25, 2000 with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner.
