Herman Montoya

Herman Montoya, age 61, passed away January 30, 2005 in Santa Rosa following an illness. Herman was born October 10, 1943 in Gallegos, NM to the home of Elias and Esther Quintana Montoya. He was reared and attended schools in Nara Visa. Herman came to Santa Rosa 7 years ago from Los Angeles, CA. He was employed with the Jim Sena Construction for the last 7 years. Herman is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Benjamin Montoya and Victor Montoya. Survivors inlcude his wife Rosa Montoya of Los Angeles, CA, daughters; Tina Cook of Albuquerque, Paula Cook of Denver, CO and Laura Cook of Atlanta, GA, stepchildren; Roger, Anna, Sandra, Melda and Rosita. Also surviving is his sister Julia Gutierrez of Colonias, nephew; Gilbert Gutierrez, Jr. and wife Eloisa of Santa Rosa, niece; Gabrielle D. Gutierrez of Grants, along with numerous great nieces, great nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 2, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 3, at 10:00 also from St. Rose Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gutierrez, Louis Baca, Ronald Gutierrez, Nathan Gutierrez, Thomas Ulibarri and Gene Sena.
