H.T. “Tom” Morgan, 86, of Clovis, and formerly of House, NM died Friday, January 28, 2000 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM following an illness. Tom was born May 6, 1913 at Ima, NM to the home of John Wylie and Alice (Rosson) Morgan. He attended school at House, NM. Tom married Iris Wilson in Fort Sumner on November 4, 1933. They farmed and ranched at Ima and House for many years. Tom served as Mayor of House for several terms. He was a member of Farm Bureau. Tom made his home in Clovis in 1996. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James Morgan, two sisters Mary Kathryn Morgan, and Mary Emma Morgan. Survivors include his wife Iris Morgan of the home in Clovis; a son Calvin and wife Beverly Morgan of Clovis; a daughter Judy and husband Tommy Campbell of San Antonio, TX; one sister Bea Alma Peacock of Tucumcari, NM. Also surviving are five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 31, 2000 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Sumner with Rev. Sherman Martin and Rev. Don Kinder officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Guy Morgan, Dustin Morgan, Mike Brown, Thomas Szaloy, Alvin Wyatt, and Glen Crenshaw. Visitation will be Sunday from 1PM to 6PM at the funeral home.
