Lorenzo E. Castillo, age 52, passed away January 22, 2005 at his home in Vaughn following an illness. Lorenzo was born June 24, 1952 in Anton Chico, NM to the home of Pedro and Carolina Castillo. He graduated from Vaughn High School in 1971. He married Linda K. Tapia on July 7, 1972 in Vaughn. Lorenzo recently retired from the BNSF Railroad after 31 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn. He is preceded in death by his wife Linda, his father, brother and sisters. Survivors include his children, Lorinda Castillo and fiancee Joaquin, Lorenzo Castillo, Jr. and wife Denise, Luis Castillo, Lefonso Castillo and fiancee Faith and Loretta Castillo, his five grandchildren; Courtney, Liza, Leanza, Lefonso, Jr. and Joaquin Running Deer. Also surviving is his mother Carolina Castillo, brothers and sisters; Adino Roybal, Erminio Castillo, Ismael Castillo, Antonio Castillo, Albert Castillo, Virginia Roybal, Sylvia Gallegos, Cary Thieman, Christina Roybal, Annabelle Marquez and Eva Owens along with a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial rosary will be held on Tuesday evening, January 25, at 7:00 PM from St. Mary's Church in Vaughn. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 26, at 10:00 AM also from St. Mary's Church with Father Hoi Tran officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Honorary bearers will include Lorenzo Castillo, Luis Castillo, Lefonso Castillo, Smokey Lueras, Marcy Cordova and Gerald Martinez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Adino Roybal, Erminio Castillo, Ismael Castillo, Antonio Castillo, Albert Castillo, Leo Sanchez, Victor Padilla and Joey Saiz. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
