Abel Lucero

Abel Joe Lucero, age 59, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on June 30, 2008. Abel was born September 10, 1948 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Juan and Estefanita Gutierrez Lucero. Abel was self employed as a handyman and was a jack of all trades. He loved working, spending time with his family and visiting with his friends. He is preceded in death by his father, his sister Antonia Lucero and his sister in law; Consuelo Lucero. Survivors include his daughters; Darlene Gutierrez and husband Albert, Mary Frances Salazar all of Santa Rosa, his mother, Estefanita Lucero of Santa Rosa, grandchildren; Melissa Gutierrez, Alberta Perea and Angel Salazar. Also surviving are his brothers and sister; Fritz Lucero and wife Lucille of Albuquerque, Christian Lucero, Tomas Lucero, Ernest Lucero and Arthur Lucero all of Santa Rosa and Irene Anderson and husband Monty of Grand Junction, CO as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a rosary will be recited on Monday, July 7, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 8, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessica Gutierrez, Jason Gutierrez, Jackie Gutierrez, Arthur Lucero, Jr., Jonathan Lucero, Joey Lucero and Nico Lucero.
