Margarita M Gallegos

Margarita M. Gallegos, age 92, passed away on July 1, 2008 in Albuquerque following an illness. Margarita was born May 26, 1916 in Borica, NM to the home of Ezequiel and Mariallita Moya Chavez. She married Luis Gallegos on June 15, 1936 in Puerto De Luna, NM. Margarita had been a resident of Albuquerque for the last 6 years. She was a Parishoner of St. Rose of Lima Church where she was involved in the Sacred Heart Society and Las Hijas De Maria and St Joseph on the Rio Grande Church in Albuquerque where she was a member of the Missionaries of Mercy. Margarita was always praying for everyone, she loved to sew, make blankets and donating money to different charities and organizations. Margarita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Luis Gallegos, her son; Luis Gallegos, Jr., granddaughter; Rita Ann Gallegos, sister; Anna Maria Lucero and her brother; Jose Moya. Survivors include her children; Gregorio Gallegos and wife Sally of Albuquerque, Sophie Encinias of Las Vegas, NM, Mae Romero of Albuquerque, Minnie Gallegos of Albuquerque, Maria Bentacu of Albuquerque, Julia Seybert and husband Fred of Las Cruces, Esther Romero and husband Anthony of Tucson, AZ, Larry Joaquin Gallegos of Albuquerque, Charlie Gallegos and wife Cathy of Santa Rosa, Patricia Martinez and husband Tony of Milagro, Albert Gallegos of Albuquerque and Lorenzo Gallegos of Albuquerque. Also surviving are 57 grandchildren, 127 great grandchildren and 37 great great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, July 3, at 7:00 PM from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church in Puerto De Luna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 4, at 10:00 also from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at El Calvario Cemetery in Puerto de Luna. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa. www.chavezfuneralhome.com
