Mary Louise Higgins

Dr. Mary Louise Higgins, 79 of Roanoke, Texas died Friday, November 7, 2003 at Medical Center of Plano, in Plano, Texas. She was born July 12, 1924 in Cuervo, NM to James Frederick and Anna Demetrious (Waddell) Higgins. She attended Public Schools, New Mexico State University and Oklahoma State University, receiving a PHD in Biology. She was retired from Texas Woman's University where she was a Professor of Microbiology in Research. She retired after 30 years with Texas Woman’s University. She attended the Methodist Church. Visitation was held Monday, November 10, 2003 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Denton, Texas. A family graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 12, 2003 from the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery in Tucumcari, New Mexico. A memorial service will be held in Denton, TX at a later date. She is survived by one brother, John R. Higgins of Fort Sumner, New Mexico; four nephews John Higgins Jr. of Cuervo, NM; Fred Higgins of Roanoke, TX; Geno Higgins of Fort Sumner, NM and Joe Higgins of Morgan Hills, TX.
