Luz G. Sisneros

Luz Sisneros, 92 a longtime Santa Rosa resident died Thursday, November 13, 2003 at Valle Norte Caring Center in Albuquerque following an illness. Mrs. Sisneros was born September 28, 1911 in Colonias, NM to the home of Ismael Gallegos and the former Isabelita Madrid. Luz attended school at Colonias, NM. She Married Manuel DeAtocha Sisneros on February 10, 1936. Luz was a homemaker she also worked as a housekeeper at a Santa Rosa Motel. She was a lifelong member of San Jose Catholic Church in Colonias and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Luz loved her family, especially her grandchildren; she enjoyed their company and visits. She and Manuel enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada and to visit in California. Luz loved her pet cats, and enjoyed reading. She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel Sisneros on September 15, 2001; and a brother Silvano Gallegos. Survivors include two daughters; Frances Wilkerson and husband Byron of Maple Valley, Washington and Patsy Magin and husband Tom of Apache Junction, AZ; two sons Silvano Sisneros and wife Seferina of Santa Rosa and Reynaldo Sisneros and wife Clara of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving is one sister Stella Mares of San Jacinto, California; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, November 16, 2003 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the church at 11:00 A.M. Monday, Nov. 17, 2003 with Father Leo Padget officiating. Burial will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Colonias, New Mexico. Pallbearers will include Trindon Wilkerson, Paul Magin, Thomas Jaramillo, Silvano Sisneros, Roxanne Sisneros, Frank Sisneros, and Tommy Jaramillo. Honorary bearers will be all her grandchildren, family, and friends. Visitation hours will be Saturday and Sunday from 1PM to 6PM at the funeral home and Monday from 10AM to 11AM at the church.
