Maria Frances Campos, age 87, a lifelong Guadalupe County resident died August 31, 2003 in an Albuquerque hospital following an illness. Frances was born July 8, 1916 in Pintada, NM to the home of Alcario and Faustina Garcia Martinez. She was reared and attended schools in Pintada. She married Joaquin Campos in 1938. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joaquin, her sisters Rose Nelson and Sabinita Gonzalez and her brother Faustin Martinez. Survivors include her sons Eddie Campos and wife Dolores of Albuquerque, Joe Campos and partner Lorraine Aguilar of Grants, Gilbert Campos and wife Loretta of Santa Rosa and Arthur Campos of Santa Rosa, her sister Amelia Wallace of Albuquerque, her brothers Jose A. Martinez of Santa Rosa, Nap Martinez of Santa Rosa, Jose L. Martinez of Pintada and Rudy Martinez of Pintada. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A rosary will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at 7:00 PM from the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, at 10:00 AM from Saint Rose of Lima, Burial of cremains will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
