Earl R. Yearley, age 76, passed away January 24, 2008 at the Veterans Medical Center in Amarillo, TX following an illness. Earl was born July 23, 1931 in Yankton, South Dakota to the home of Damoin and Mae Glascock Yearly. He was reared in Illinois and New Mexico. Earl served his country in the Marine Corps from 1952 through 1954. He received the Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Earl married Anna Mae Avants on August 19, 1955 in Santa Rosa. He worked for the Santa Fe and the Southern Pacific Railroad. He and Anna Mae along with their three sons were longtime Guadalupe County Ranchers. Earl enjoyed hunting, watching TV, and watching his granddaughters play sports. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother; James Yearly and a sister; Thelma McClintock. Survivors include his wife Anna Mae of the family ranch, his son’s; Paul Richard Yearley and wife Juanita of Santa Rosa, John Raymond Yearley and wife Bonnie of Gallup and Earl Andrew Yearley also of Gallup. His granddaughters; Janie and Linda Yearley, Great Grandaughter; Estella Maria Dunagan and a great grandson on the way; Skyler Jai Cabonell. Also surviving are his sisters; Dorothy Reeves of Kerville, TX and Donna Drapeau and husband Ray of Portsmith, NH along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, January 27, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM and Monday, January 28 form 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM from the Chavez Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, at 11:00 AM from the First Baptist Church in Santa Rosa with Rev. Kevin Koop officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Paul Bittner, Tim Yearley, Jeff Yearley Lonnie Mendez, Arnel Carbonell and Alfredo Ballejo. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Earl’s friends, neighbors and all the Service Men that never came home from Korea. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
