Edward David Sena

Edward David Sena, 53 of Santa Rosa died Sunday evening, October 12, 2003 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM following a short illness. Edward was born September 21, 1950 in Fort Sumner to the home of Roman T. and Faviola (Gauna) Sena. Edward attended school at Fort Sumner; he later attended an auto-body repair school in Denver, Colorado and an office equipment repair school in Albuquerque. Edward worked in auto-body repair for several years. He was a jeweler, artist, and a talented musician who played lead guitar and the harmonica with area bands including “Los Mosquitos” and “Los Ortegas” Edward later formed his own band “Cactus”. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and fishing at the Diversion Dam north of Fort Sumner. Edward suffered from Polio from age 3. He was a loving son, father, brother, nephew, and friend who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Edward made his home in Santa Rosa in 1994, where he attended the Assembly of God Church. He also attended the “Church on the Hill” in Fort Sumner. Edward was preceded in death by the mother of his children Gwen Sena on April 26, 2003; his Paternal Grandparents Jose and Estefanita Sena, Maternal Grandparents Emiliano and Claudita Gauna; two brothers-in-law George Ortega and Larry Roybal Sr. Survivors include two sons Gino Sena of Lubbock, TX and Christian Sena of Midland, TX; his parents Roman T. and Faviola Sena of Fort Sumner; two brothers James Dunn and wife Esther of Fort Sumner and Jesse Sena and wife Vivian of Clovis, NM; six sisters Dolores Ortega of Santa Rosa; Ruby Gonzales and husband George of Fort Sumner, Angie Mares and husband Mariano of Roswell, NM; Lucy Roybal and husband Rafael of Roswell, NM; Jean Chavez and husband Paul of Albuquerque, NM; and Reba Casaus and husband Rudy of Santa Rosa. Other survivors include a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 16, 2003 from the Church on the Hill with Pastor Anna Teeter officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Chavez, Larry Roybal, James Dunn, Gino Sena, Christian Sena, and Jesse Sena. Honorary bearers will be all his many friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1PM to 6PM at the funeral home. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Church on the Hill Youth Fund, P.O.
