Emma B. Chavez

Emma B. Chavez, age 66, passed away June 13, 2004 at her residence in Santa Fe following an illness. Emma was born November 18, 1937 in Puerto De Luna, NM to the home of Guillermo and Epimenia Luna Campos. Emma married Jose I. Chavez on August 11, 1956 at Nuestra Senora de Refugio Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna. They were longtime residents of Santa Fe. Emma was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will truly be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Debra Y. Chavez, her brother Reynaldo Campos and her sister Lillian Romero. Survivors include her husband Jose I. Chavez of the family home in Santa Fe, her daughters Joann Chavez Hurtado and husband Gene of Pena Blanca, Monica Lisa Chavez of Santa Fe, Rene Chavez Escobar and husband Victor of Santa Fe, her grandchildren Joseph Chavez Fullbright, Ashley Chavez Sprunk, Victor Arturo Escobar and Hannah Monique Escobar. Also surviving are hers brothers and sisters Willie Campos of Santa Rosa, Dora Ulibarri of Belen, Viola Pacheco of Puerto De Luna, Alfonso Campos of Santa Rosa, Julia Rush of Albuquerque, Esmeralda Cruz of Santa Fe, Henry Campos of Albuquerque and Edwina Romero of Santa Rosa along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be recited on Monday evening at 7:00 from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church in Puerto De Luna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM also from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church with Father Leo Padget officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at El Calvario Cemetery in Puerto De Luna. Serving as Pallbearers will be Miquel Martinez, Charlie Romero, Marty Pacheco, David Romero, Kenneth Cordova, Lionel Griego and Francisco Chavez. All services are under the direction of the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
