Mozell Martin

Mrs. Annie Mozell Martin, 89, of House, NM died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Plains Regional Medical Center following a long illness. She was born August 1, 1914 in Merkel, Texas the daughter of John Melton Henry and the former Martha Cordelia Evans. Mozell was raised at House, NM from age 7. She made her home in Roswell, NM from 1954 to 1967 before moving to Warner, Oklahoma in 1967. She returned to House, NM in 1989. Mozell worked as a School Nurse at Connors Junior College in Warner, OK for 20 years. While in Warner she assisted in other school activities including working at the ball games and serving as a Dorm Mom. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Warner, OK. Mozell was preceded in death by three brothers Alvin Henry and Jeff Henry, Wilton Henry; four sisters Ethel, Norma Lee, Beulah and Lucille. Survivors include two sons Stanley B. Martin and wife Karen of Phoenix, AZ; and Sherman Martin and wife Becky of House, NM; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 12, 2004 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Sumner with Rev. Sherman Martin officiating. Burial will follow at House Community Cemetery, House, New Mexico. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Baptist Children’s Home P.O. Box 629, Portales, New Mexico 88130, in memory of Annie Mozell Martin.
