Annie Pearl Waller

Annie Pearl Waller, age 90 a longtime resident of the Fort Sumner valley died Saturday, January 26, 2008 with her family at her bedside. Annie Pearl was born November 2, 1917 in Turkey, Texas one of seven children born to the home of Damon Edwin Gray and the former Mary Elizabeth Virginia Rhea. Annie Pearl was reared in Southern Texas. Annie Pearl married Dan W. Waller in 1933, their wedding celebration was held at the Old Maxwell House in the Fort Sumner Valley. They made their home in the Valley where they farmed Following Dan’s death in 1968 Annie Pearl continued to operate the family farm. She received the Farmer of The Year Award in the early 1970’s. Annie Pearl enjoyed sewing, making dolls, traveling, camping, hunting and fishing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner. Besides her husband, Annie Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Troy, Lawrence, Clyde and Frank; a sister Joyce Van Landingham; two sons-in-law Don Hisel and Bobby Lutrick and many of her friends. Survivors include a sister Velma Jean Barrett of Oklahoma City, OK; two daughters Bonnie Pearlene Lutrick of Estancia, NM and Mary Ann Hisel of Fort Sumner, NM; nine grandchildren D’rese Lutrick-Sutherland and husband Allen of Aztec, NM; Lynn Lutrick-Chacon and husband Joe of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Johna Lutrick of Estancia, NM; Bobby Gail Lutrick-Gibblin and husband Vince of San Antonio, TX, Bo Lutrick and wife Susan of Portales, NM; Jackie Hisel-Hobbs and husband Richard of Milan, NM; Shelly Hisel-Bell and husband Bob of Roswell, NM; Lewis Hisel and wife Lori of Yeso, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are 16 Great-grandchildren and 11 Great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner with Pastor Coy Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Waller family plot, Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Lewis Hisel, Richard Hobbs, Bob Bell, Allen Sutherland, Bo Lutrick, Shane Lutrick, Miguel Chacon-Lutrick, Robert Bell, Richard Bell, Jake Glidewell-Lutrick, Isaac Hobbs, Garrett Hisel, Dylan Sutherland, Robert Sutherland, Forrest Waller and Mack Waller. Honorary bearers will be all her many friends. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Fort Sumner Cemetery Association, P.O.
