Santiago “Jim” Flores of Laveen, AZ passed away June 5, 2004 at the age of 74. He was born in Puerto de Luna, NM on September 6, 1929. He was a lifelong carpenter with a passion for team roping, polka dancing, and his family-devoted to “his girls”. Longtime member of the Polka Club of Arizona, polka promoter, and The Sheriff’s Posse. Santiago was preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Romana Flores, three brothers Alfonso, Pablo, Gilbert and sister Flora. Survived by his wife of 52 years Zulema “Sue” Flores of Laveen, AZ; three brothers Luis Flores of Santa Rosa; Alfredo Flores of Puerto De Luna, NM; and Bobby Flores of Albuquerque, four daughters Kathryn Pennell of Las Vegas, NV; Flora Mondragon, Joyce Carnes, and Sandra Worthington all of Laveen, AZ, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, June 19, 2002 from Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Father Nick Nichols will officiate. Interment will follow at El Calvario Cemetery in Puerto de Luna, NM.
