Bea Alma Peacock, 88 a longtime House, NM resident died Monday, June 6, 2005 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis following an illness. She was born November 23, 1916 in Hassell, NM to the home of John Morgan and the former Alice Rossen. She was reared and attended school at Ima and House, NM. She graduated from House High School. Bea married Ruben L. Peacock on January 5, 1938 in Tucumcari. They made their home on the Crow’s Ranch in the Ima Valley from 1938 to 1940. They purchased land at Ima in 1940 where they made their home and raised their family. In 1976 they made their home at House where they continued to farm and ranch. Bea attended the Ima Community Church and was a longtime member of Ima Community Quilters; she enjoyed cooking and was an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ruben on August 20, 2000, a son Dale Peacock on April 15, 2005, and two brothers James Morgan and Thomas Morgan. Survivors include a daughter Goldie Baum and husband Bill of Tucumcari, NM; two sons Alvie Peacock and wife Laura of House, NM; Benny Peacock of Clovis, NM; a daughter in law Patty Peacock of Broken Bow, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law Iris Morgan and Pauline Mitchell both of Clovis. Also surviving are five grandchildren Misti McAlevy of Broken Bow, Nebraska; David Baum of Amarillo, TX; John Peacock of House, NM; Jeff Peacock of House, NM; Angela Olivan of Harrison, Arkansas; two Great-grandchildren Tiara McAlevy of Broken Bow, Nebraska and Ezra Kade Olivan of Harrison, Arkansas. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews including Clarence Morgan, Wesley Morgan, Frankie Brown, Mary Vandiver, John Mitchell, Calvin Morgan, Judy Campbell, and Pearl Robinson. Visitation hours will be Thursday from 1pm to 6pm and Friday from 9am to 10am at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2005 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sherman Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Tommy Hohstadt, Craig Downey, Mike Morrow, Jimmy Snipes, Jerry Sparks, and Calvin Morgan.
