Esmeralda Rael

Esmeralda Rael, age 76, passed away, May 1, 2008 at her daughters residence in Vaughn following an illness. Esmeralda was born August 20, 1931 in Vaughn, NM to the home of Meliton and Lucinda (Ulibarri) Rodarte. She married Augustine Rael on February 6, 1948 in Vaughn. Esmeralda was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn. In her spare time she enjoyed watching TV, doing crossword puzzles, embroidering, washing dishes and going cruising. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Augustine, a daughter; Julia Rael, seven sons; Kelly Rael, Ray Rael, Ernesto Rael, twins Alfred and Albert, Joe (Binky) Rael, Joseph Rael and a grandson Erik Rael. Survivors include her children; Alex Rael and wife Ruth of Vaughn, Helen Martinez and husband Rudy of Vaughn, Yvonne Zamora and husband Pete of Vaughn, Johnny Rael and wife Virginia of Edgewood, Ricky Rael and wife Rita of Albuquerque, Archie Rael and wife Aletha of Vaughn, Henrietta Garcia and husband Ernie of Encino, Gloria Rael of Vaughn and Patrick Rael and wife Audrey of Albuquerque. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law; Linda Rael of Grants, NM and a sister; Linda Welch of Granbury, TX along with several nieces, nephews, a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held Friday, May 2, 2008 at 7:00 pm from St.Mary's Church in Vaughn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, May 3, 2008 from St. Mary's with Father Steve Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Alex Rael, Ricky Rael, Patrick Rael, Johnny Rael and Archie Rael. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
