George P. Gutierrez

George P. Gutierrez, 77 of Santa Rosa, NM passed away Friday, March 14, 2003 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. George was born December 4, 1925 to the home of Mariano Gutierrez and the former Rafaelita Sierra. George was raised and attended school in Santa Rosa. He married Dilia Griego in February of 1968 in Santa Rosa, NM. He was a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. George worked as a cook for many years at area restaurants. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mariano Gutierrez and Eloy Gutierrez. Survivors include his wife Dilia Gutierrez of the family home in Santa Rosa; a son, Robert Griego and wife Joann of Albuquerque, NM; two grandsons, two granddaughters, two great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters all of Albuquerque, NM; one sister Fabiola Jaramillo and husband Ben of Albuquerque; several nieces and nephews. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, March 16, 2003 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, March 17, 2003 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with father Stephen Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Gonzales, Gene Sierra, Reynaldo Sisneros, Albert Maez, James Griego, and Michael Griego.
