Jose V. Sisneros, age 74, passed away June 1, 2003 at the Guadalupe County Hospital in Santa Rosa following an illness. Jose was born April 1, 1929 in Dahlia, NM to the home of Jose Amador and Dolores Lucero Sisneros. He was reared and attended schools in Dahlia. Jose married Ambrosia Lopez in 1959 in Villanueva, NM. He worked for the New Mexico Highway Department for over 25 years. Jose was a cattle rancher in the Dahlia area for many years. He enjoyed doing yard work and being a mechanic. Jose is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters Julia Aragon, Bertha Castillo, Felix Sisneros, Fidencio Sisneros, Reynaldo Sisneros, Carlos Sisneros, Alejandro Sisneros, Fidel Sisneros, Marcelina Sanchez and Arturo Sisneros. Survivors include his wife Ambrosia Sisneros of the family home in Santa Rosa, his daughter Erlinda Sisneros of Santa Rosa, his son Arturo Sisneros of Big Spring, TX and his sister Elena Duran of Pueblo, CO. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services were recited on Tuesday evening, June 3, from St. Joseph Church in Anton Chico. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, June 4, at 11:00 AM also from St. Joseph Church with Father Patrick Duffy Officiating. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Anotn Chico. Serving as Pallbearers were Max Velasquez, Jeff Encinias, Juan Gonzales, Joe Tenorio, Martin Jaramillo, Rachel Baca, Carlos Lopez, Antonio Jaramillo, Alex Sisneros, Pete Sisneros, Danny Martinez, Dennis Martinez and Michael Velasquez. All services were entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
