Rosita Sisneros Apodaca

Rosita Sisneros Apodaca, age 97, passed away October 27, 2003 at the Assisted Living in Santa Rosa. Rosita was born January 25, 1906 in Anton Chico, NM to the home of Andres and Trancita Gonzalez Sisneros. She married Manuel Apodaca on February 7, 1921 in Anton Chico. Shortly after their marriage Manuel and Rosita homesteaded in San Ignacio where they were longtime cattle ranchers. Rosita was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She loved to crochet rugs, sew and can fruits, vegetables and meats. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Manuel Apodaca, her granddaughter Joan Estrada, her great granddaughter Jenna Estrada, her brothers Ernestino Sisneros, Miguel Sisneros, Herman Sisneros and her daughter in law Rufina Apodaca. Survivors include her daughters Utilia Martinez and husband Nap of Santa Rosa, Trancita Ulibarri and husband Nick of Albuquerque, Lorrie Maldonado and husband Benny of Albuquerque, her sons Tranquilino Apodaca of Bernalillo and Manuel Apodaca and wife Adela of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are her sisters Alicia Apodaca of Santa Rosa, Linora Aragon of Las Vegas, NM, Margarita Gonzalez of Albuquerque, Mary Sena of Roswell and Irene Sanchez of Tajique, NM and her brother Andy Sisneros of Albuquerque along with 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 from St. Rose of Lima Church in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons Patrick Martinez, Glenn Maldonado, Johnny Apodaca, Dale Apodaca, Fred Apodaca and Eric Wasson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the rest of her grandsons. All services are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 923c South 3rd St. Santa Rosa, NM (505)472-3369.
