Arthur H. Sandoval, age 68, passed away June 25, 2003 in Sacramento, California due to a sudden illness. Arthur was born February 25, 1935 in Dilia, NM to the home of Carlos and Dolores Nelson Sandoval. He married Mamye Sanchez November 18, 1962 in Las Vegas, NM. He and Mamye made their home in Newkirk, NM where he owned and operated his own bar. He served as a Guadalupe County Commissioner in the 1970's. They moved to California in 1978. Arthur worked as a Bartender most of his life which he loved doing. He also worked for the Sacramento City Unified School district for 7 years. He enjoyed fishing in his boat and being with his grandchildren. Arthur was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be truly missed. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ben Sandoval and Trancito Sandoval. Survivors include his wife Mamye Sandoval of the family home in Sacramento, CA, his children Leslie Sandoval of Santa Rosa and Karl Sandoval of Sacramento, CA, his grandchildren Chris Farinias, Jr.(C.J.) of Sacramento, CA, , Naomi Romero, Richie Serrano both of Santa Rosa and Benny Manning of Sacramento, CA, his sisters and brothers Tina Maestas of Tucumcari, Gloria Guevarra of Albuquerque, Priscilla Palomino of Chowchilla, CA, Thyria Sandoval of Anton Chico, Richard Sandoval and wife Erlinda of Tucumcari, Joe Chris Sandoval and wife Dinah of Albuquerque and Danny Sandoval and wife Ruby of Las Vegas, NV. Also surviving is his father in law Anselmo Sanchez of Santa Rosa, numerous brother and sister in law's, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 7:00 from St. Rose Church in Santa Rosa. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating and Deacon Robert Welch assisting. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Farinias Jr., Robert Serrano, Jr., George Griego, Rudy Sanchez, Michael Sanchez, Nick Kavanaugh, Gerald Sanchez, Anthony Sanchez, Malcolm Foster, Don Radcliff and Jesus Velasquez.
