Elbert William "E.W." Dudrey, age 81, passed away December 16, 2004 at the Guadalupe County Hospital following an illness. E.W. was born December 9, 1923 in Alamogordo, NM to the home of Tom and Ida K. Phillips Dudrey. He was reared and attended schools in Carrizozo, NM. He was a WWII Veteran where he served as a Radio Operator. He was awarded the American Theatre Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon and 2 Overseas Bars. E.W. married Emma Faye Guy on Jauary 7, 1956 in Carrizozo. They made their home in Santa Rosa in 1956 and later made their home in Puerto De Luna. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Santa Rosa, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 44 and Liberty Lodge #51 and also a member of the Sun and Sands Coffee Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Emma Faye, brother; Reid Dudrey, and sister Edith Hall. Survivors include his children, two daughters; Ellen Marsden and husband Thomas of El Paso, TX, Fay Rogers and husband Jerry of Puerto De Luna and a son William Dudrey of Puerto De Luna; grandchildren Michael Rogers, Thomas Marsden, Jr.and Catherine Marsden; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 1:00 PM from the First Baptist Church of Santa Rosa with Rev. Van Espy officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.
