Lola Fay Foster, 62 a lifelong resident of Fort Sumner died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque following a sudden illness. Lola was born April 13, 1941 in Cuervo, NM to the home of Johnny Cones and the former Edna Harrison. Lola moved to Fort Sumner in 1943 where she attended school. She married Dick Foster on August 30, 1958 in Clovis, NM. Lola enjoyed fishing, cooking, and gardening. She was a member of the Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Lola was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Loyd Cones, and a sister Grace Foster. Survivors include her husband Dick Foster of the family home in Fort Sumner two sons Lee Foster and wife Karen, grandchildren, Travis Foster and wife Vanessa, Stacy Brown and husband Carl, and Lewis Meadows, of Fort Sumner; Christopher Meadows of Roswell, NM son, Bobby Foster and wife DeAnna of Fort Sumner, grandchildren, Brandon Foster, Royce Foster and his wife Verneda of Clovis, NM. Stephanie Barton, Jessica Barton and Racheal Chavez all of Fort Sumner; Elizabeth McConnell and Christina McConnell of Corona, NM one great grandchild Tianna Lopez of Fort Sumner Also surviving are two sisters Annie Mae Finney, Lois Roper and a brother Clarence Cones along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 23 at 10:00 am from the Fort Sumner Cemetery with Anna Teeter officiating.Pallbearers will be Jon Trotter, Dub Head, Joe Gammill Justin Ingram, Clifford Gunn and Kelly Olguin.
