Anastacio Trujillo Sena

March 21, 1920 — February 27, 2002

A.T. Sena, 81 a lifelong Fort Sumner resident died Wednesday, February 27, 2002 in the Pecos Valley Care Center following an illness. He was born Anastacio T. Sena, on March 21, 1920 in Fort Sumner to the home of Jose Casaus Sena and the former Estefanita Trujillo. A.T. was inducted into the U.S. ARMY on March 7, 1942. He served with the 877 AAA Batallion as a Cannoneer Heavy Artillery. He was honorably discharged on October 30, 1945. A.T. was united in marriage to Ernestine Gallegos on March 5, 1946 in Santa Rosa. They made their home in Fort Sumner where A.T. worked for the NM State Highway Department for a short time. A.T. was a carpenter in the Fort Sumner area for many years. His sons worked along side him for many years, two sons continued in the building construction business and became licensed contractors and continue the business. For the past several years A.T. has suffered from Diabetes. He has endured three weekly trips to Clovis for dialysis for the past several years, never losing his sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed by his family. A.T. was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Reymundo, Olegario, Salomon, and Alfonso; a sister Aurelia Lucero, and a great-grandson Kristofer Segura. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Ernestine Sena of Fort Sumner; two daughters Esther Segura and husband Pete of Fort Sumner; Evelyn Baeza and husband Nestor of Odessa, TX; three sons Felix Sena and wife Connie of Albuquerque; Edward A. Sena and wife Linda and Leo Sena and wife Yolanda all of Fort Sumner. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, Joshua Sena, Natasha and husband Chris Morman, Vicki Segura, Cindy and husband Adrian Adams, Michael Baeza, Mark Sena, Adam and wife Angela Sena, Rusty Sena, Luke Sena, John Sena, and Jaclyn Sena; 1 great-grandchild, Taiza Morman a sister Alberta Gonzales, two brothers Carlos T. Sena and Roman T. Sena all of Fort Sumner along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 1, 2002 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from the church at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 2, 2002 with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Joshua Sena, Mark Sena, Adam Sena, Michael Baeza, Luke Sena, and John Sena. Honorary bearers will include Raymond Lopez, Michael Sena and Adrian Adams. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 804 N. Fifth Street; Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
