Grace R Rust

Grace R. Rust, 82 a resident of Clovis, NM died Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at Plains Regional Medical Center following an illness. Grace was born March 17, 1920 in Fort Sumner the daughter of Arthur Ford and the former Mattie Highsmith. She attended school at Fort Sumner, and in the early 1950’s made her home in Clovis, NM. Grace was a homemaker and attended Central Christian Church for several years. She enjoyed going on walks, watching TV and telling stories to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Ronnie Rust in 1970. Survivors include a daughter Lorraine Long of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sons James A. McFatridge of Clovis, NM and Frank McFatridge of Denver, Colorado; three sisters Poppy Ford of Salmon, Idaho; Pansy Balk of Boise, Idaho; and Roberta Robertson of Denver, Colorado. Other survivors include four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 2 Great-great-grandchildren along with a several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 26, 2002 from 11AM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2002 from Fort Sumner Cemetery with Rev. Coy Brewer officiating. Pallbearers will include James McFatridge, Paul Savage, Chris Dimas, and Neal Morrison. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner.
