Casilda Marquez

Casilda O Marquez, age 77, of Tucumcari, NM passed away January 22, 2008 at the Alta Vista Hospital in Las Vegas following an illness. Casilda was born October 4, 1930 in Mora, NM to the home of Juan and Elena Olguin. She had been a resident of Vida Encantada Nursing Home in Las Vegas for the past several months. Casilda enjoyed doing crafts and was a member of the Tucumcari Senior Citizens Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andalecio Marquez, her brother Eloy and sister Gertrudes. Survivors include her brother Leo Olguin of Rockyford, CO, cousins; Jimmy and Corrine Armijo of Albuquerque and Dora Mascarenas along with numerous nieces, nephews, a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, from 11:00 am to 1:50 pm at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM with Father Leo Padget officiating. Burial will follow at the Tucumcari Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include Marty Villanueva, Cruz Elebario, Jeremy Montano, Orlando Trujillo, Matthew Montano and Margarito Marquez. Honorary Pallbearers are Darlene Montano, Javier Elbario, Bertha Chavez, Tommy Cordova, Jessey Trujillo, Pancho Rivas and Robert Rivas, Jr. Services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa. www.chavezfuneralhome.com
