Gregorita G Orosco

Gregorita G. Orosco, age 90, passed away June 3, 2008 in Tucumcari. Gregorita was born March 11, 1918 in Palomas, NM to the home of Juan and Eugenia Garcia. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church where she was active in the Sacred Heart Sodality and was also a Christian Mother. She worked as a cook for the Eastern Plains Community Center for many years and was also a volunteer for the St. Vincent De Paul. Gregorita was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband; Alfonso N. Martinez and her second husband Concepcion Diaz Orosco. Survivors include her children; Alfonso Martinez and wife Mary, Benito Martinez and wife Bernice, Gilberto Martinez and wife Stella, Gloria Sandoval and husband Benjamin all of Tucumcari and Martha Trevizo and husband Jesus of Albuquerque. Also surviving is her sister; Adelina Preciado of Tucumcari, her brothers; Ismael Garcia of Amarillo, Ralph Garcia and Frank Garcia both of Tucumcari, 21 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be conducted on Friday, June 6, at 7:00 from St. Anne’s Church in Tucumcari. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, at 10:00 AM also from St. Anne’s Church with Father Leo Padget officiating. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park. The family will have a gathering at Hammond Hall following the burial. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Tommy Martinez, Michael Chavez, Benjie Sandoval, Julian Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Lorenzo Sandoval, Mark Garcia and Nicholas Garcia. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters; Theresa Macias, Anna Donahue, Lisa Martinez, Monica Burns, Jeanette Leonard, Krystal Gonzales, Stephanie Chavez, Alexendra Villanueva, Veronica Blea, Kathy Martinez, Michelle Chavez, Patricia Garcia and Angela Trevizo.
