J. Eloy Encinias

November 23, 1919 — December 10, 2003

J. Eloy "Herby" Encinias died peacefully at his home in Albuquerque on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 after an illness at the age of 84. Eloy worked for the New Mexico Department of Human Services for many years until his retirement, he also served as Probate Judge in Santa Rosa. He was a member of St.Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. He enjoyed the outdoors and going for his walks. He and his wife Concha made their home in Albuquerque in 2000. Eloy was a wonderful husband father, grandfather and friend and will truly be missed. Eloy is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Elvira Encinias, two sons Michael and Anthony Encinias and a granddaughter Analicia Encinias. Survivors include his wife Concepcion "Concha" G. Encinias of the family home in Albuquerque, his children Phillip Encinias of Colorado, Matthew Encinias of Albuquerque, Jeffery Encinias and wife Brenda of Santa Rosa, Catherine Felson and husband Adam of Colorado, Theresa Encinias of Albuquerque, Barbara Encinias of Colorado, Annette Chavez and husband Frank of Albuquerque and Elizabeth Encinias of Albuquerque, 2 brothers Ben Rivera and wife Frida, and Jose Rivera, 3 sisters Gregoria Montoya, Ann Estrada and Toni Rivera. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many beloved nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial rosary will be held on Monday evening December 15, 2003 at 7:00 from St. Rose of Lima Church in Santa Rosa. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 11:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating.
