Maxine Hoy, 92, passed away at Sierra Hills Assisted Living Center in T or C, NM on Friday, May 29, 2009. Born in Hamlin, Texas on August 18, 1916, Mrs. Hoy was the daughter of Curtis Clyde "C.C." Dooley and Annie (Rogers) Dooley. For the last 50 years, Maxine lived in Clovis, Lake Sumner and Portales, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, F.H. "Bud" Hoy; her daughter, Dr. Patricia Oxford Greenfield, and her parents, C.C. and Annie Dooley and by a brother, Joe Spurlock. Maxine is survived by her sons, Dennis and wife, Beth of Elephant Butte, NM; Bob and wife, Marieta Hoy of Clovis, NM; her three granddaughters, Suzette and husband, Jimmie Mason of Lubbock, TX, Shannon Oxford of Idaho Springs, CO, Alison Maine and husband, John of Phoenix, AZ, and great-granddaughters, Sydney and Teagan Maine. Also surviving is her nephew, Joe Spurlock, II of Ft. Worth, TX, and by a great niece, Allison Morrison and husband, Rickey of Merridian, TX, and great-great nephews, Alex and Aaron Morrison. Maxine was secretary to four superintendents in the Clovis Municipal Schools and, after moving to Portales from Ft. Sumner, she was very active at Golden Acres, where she was on the Board of Directors for many years. Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service was held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in the family plot, Fort Sumner Cemetery. Father Artie McDowell officiated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 804 N. fifth Street; Fort Sumner, NM.
