Rose T Sanchez

Rose T. Sanchez, age 91, passed away January 9, 2004 in Santa Rosa. Rose was born October 3, 1912 in Pastura, NM to the home of Juan De Dios and Perfecta Trujillo Tapia. She was reared and attended schools in Pintada. Rose received her teaching certificate at Normal University (Highlands University) and also attended St. Joseph College. She went on to teach in Pintada, Sombrillo, Pastura, Milagro, Anton Chico and Vaughn for a total of 45 years. Rose married Ramon Sanchez in 1931. She was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church in Pastura. Rose loved teaching and reading. She is preceded in death by her parents,her husband Ramon Sanchez, her brothers and sisters, Adela Anaya, Placido Tapia, Ermundo Tapia, Erlindo Tapia, Manuel Tapia, Antonio Tapia, Dometilia Lucero and Margarita Baca. Survivors include 2 sisters-in-law Crisofora Tapia of Santa Rosa and Nicholasa Tapia of California along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be conducted Sunday, January 11, at 4:30 PM from St. Helen's Church in Pastura. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 12, 2004 from St. Helen's with Father Hoi Tran officiating. Burial will follow at St. Helen's Cemetery in Pastura. Serving as Pallbearers will be Herbert Anaya, Bill Anaya, Carlos Sanchez, Thomas Gonzales, Joaquin Gonzales, and Vicente Tapia. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be all her nieces and nephews.
