William Rudolph “Bill” Meccico, 75 of Fort Sumner died Friday, April 23, 2004 at Roosevelt General Hospital following an illness. Bill was born January 30, 1929 in Pocatello, Idaho to the home of James G. Meccico and the former Stella Louise Toccoli. Bill worked as a carpenter all his life; he made his home in Fort Sumner in May 1998. Bill married Phyllis Jane Carey on February 24, 1988 in Durango, CO. Bill was raised in the Roman Catholic faith, he enjoyed woodworking, ceramics, and was a silversmith. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter Sheila Meccico in 1979. Survivors include his wife Phyllis of the home in the Fort Sumner valley, a son Lance W. Meccico of Soda Springs, Idaho; three daughters Sandra Lea Branson of Pocatello, Idaho; Carolie Meccico of South Ogden, Utah; and Sheryl Lenzkes of Fallbrook, California. Also surviving are two sisters Norma Rahl of Northridge, CA; Erma Clark of Minden, Nevada; four grandchildren Michael, Joey, Jonathan, and Andrew; two great-grandchildren Shayleigh and Tayson Davis.
