Richard Eugene Brazell

Richard E. Brazell, 71 a longtime Clovis, NM resident died Friday, April 9, 2004 at Laurel Plains Health Care Center in Clovis following an illness. Richard was born January 28, 1933 in Milnesand, NM to the home of James Arthur Brazell and the former Dollie Elizabeth Lankford. Richard attended schools at Portales, Clovis, and Fort Sumner. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 -1956. Richard married Billie H. Kelt on May 24, 1980 in Clovis, NM. Richard worked in appliance service and repair business. He worked for Western Auto for 19 years and Montgomery Ward for 2 ½ years. After these businesses closed he opened his own business, Unlimited Appliance. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Clovis, NM and attended High Plains Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Clovis Police Auxiliary. Richard was a loving husband, father, and brother. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones. He loved life and his family and enjoyed traveling. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Turner “Cotton” Brazell. Survivors include his wife Billie Brazell of Clovis, NM; four sons Paul Brazell of Denver, Colorado; Bobby Brazell of Albuquerque, NM; Rusty Conover of Clovis, NM, and Mike Conover of Clovis, NM; two daughters Deborah Norvelle of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Yvonne Bolton of Roy, Utah; two brothers Jim and wife Betty Brazell of Clovis, NM; Ken and wife Jane Brazell of Seminole, TX; one sister Yvonell and husband J.W. Witt of Mineola, TX and numerous grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 17, 2004 from High Plains Baptist Church in Clovis, NM with Rev. Ted Bailey officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill McCormick, Mike Conover, Rusty Conover, Bobby Brazell, Paul Brazell, Jimmy Brazell, Ricky Brazell, and Wyatt Eubank. Cremation will take place with the burial of cremains at Fort Sumner Cemetery. The family prefers memorial contributions to High Plains Baptist Church Memorial Fund in memory of Richard E. Brazell.
