Margaret Roybal Lucero, 47 of Fort Sumner, NM died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at her home. She was born April 25, 1958 in Fort Sumner, the daughter of Tiofilo M. Roybal and the former Lucy Sanchez. She was reared and attended school at Fort Sumner. Margaret traveled across the U.S. with her husband for several years while he worked in the seismograph field. Margaret worked as an office manager at Sears in Roswell, NM for 15 years. She later worked at the De Baca General Hospital. For the past five years she was employed by Zia Orthopedics in Clovis, NM. Margaret was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. According to her family she had a “green thumb” and enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry Roybal, and a brother-in-law Gus Casaus. Survivors include a daughter Angelica Enriquez and husband Orlando of Fort Sumner; three sons Rudy Lucero (Vanessa); Gregg Lucero; and Pete Lucero (Nicole) all of Fort Sumner; two sisters Frances Trujillo (Manuel) of Roswell, NM; Helen Casaus of Clovis, NM; four brothers T.M. Roybal (Christine) of Fort Sumner; Mike Roybal (Lorraine) of Montezuma, NM; Johnny Roybal (Barbara) of Plainview, TX; and Gilbert Roybal (Angie) of Melrose, NM. Also surviving are seven grandchildren Tristen, Mea, and Haily Lucero; Aliyah and Alexys Lucero; Jasmine Castillo, and Evangelese Enriquez along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005 from St. Anthony Catholic Church; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Anthony’s at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Alex Casaus, B. J. Casaus, Larry Roybal, Mark Roybal, Steve Trujillo, Gilbert Roybal Jr. Honorary bearers will be Joe Holland, all her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
