Alicia Apodaca, age 93, of Santa Rosa, NM passed away February 2, 2008 at her residence following an illness. Alicia was born January 14, 1915 in Juan de Dios, NM to the home of Andres and Trancita Gonzalez Sisneros. She was reared in Anton Chico and San Ignacio. Alicia married Margarito Apodaca on December 26, 1931 in Santa Rosa. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Alicia enjoyed sewing and quilting. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Margarito, sons; Samuel Apodaca, Arturo Apodaca and Rocky Apodaca, grandson; Johnny Griego, sisters; Rosa Apodaca, Lenora Aragon and a brother Herman Sisneros. Survivors include her children; Silviano Apodaca and wife Theresa of Orlando, FL, Joe Apodaca and wife Marie of Albuquerque, Larry Apodaca and wife Elizabeth of Santa Rosa, Richard Apodaca and wife Esther of Albuquerque, Daniel Apodaca of Roswell, Cleo Pullin and husband Darrell of Santa Rosa, Deanie Glava and husband James of Scottsdale, AZ, Patricia Vigil and husband Steve of Santa Rosa, Florence Griego of Albuquerque, Martha Garcia of Albuquerque, Victoria Sanchez of Albuquerque and Melissa Pujo and husband Marshall of Raleigh, NC. Also surviving are her sisters; Irene Sanchez of Chilili; Margarita Gonzalez of Albuquerque a brother Andres Sisneros of Roswell, 50 plus grandchildren, 50 plus great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 8:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 7, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Silviano Apodaca, Joe Apodaca, Larry Apodaca, Richard Apodaca, Daniel Apodaca, Melissa Pujo and Alfonso Garcia. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
