Jason P. Marquez

Jason Paul Marquez, 25 of Santa Rosa, NM died Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Guadalupe County Medical Center. He was born June 7, 1982 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of George and Alice (Baca) Marquez. Jason attended Santa Rosa public schools. He worked as a cook and dishwasher at area restaurants. Jason enjoyed spending time with his sons, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Heraldo Baca; paternal grandparents Antonio and Magdalena Chavez and a cousin Robert Wayne Marquez. Survivors include his girlfriend Roxy Campos of Santa Rosa; two sons Scott Tena and Jason P. Marquez Jr. of Santa Rosa; his father George Marquez and mother Alice Marquez both of Santa Rosa; his maternal grandmother Socorro Baca; a sister Christine Marquez; four brothers Ernest Marquez, John David Marquez and wife Hollee; Joseph M. Marquez and Patrick Anthony Marquez all of Santa Rosa. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, April 28th from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Chris Lucero, Terry Lucero, Gabriel Baca, Edward Romo, Patrick Marquez and John Marquez. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa.
