Christopher Jonathan Rodarte, 24 of Santa Rosa, NM died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004 in an automobile accident near Dilia, NM. He was born September 21, 1980 in Santa Rosa, NM the son of Joseph Fredrick Rodarte and Barbara Ann Moncayo. Chris was raised in Santa Rosa where he attended Santa Rosa High School. He participated in Football, Basketball, and MESA. During the summer months he worked for his uncle at Clovis, NM. He was a cook at Joseph’s Restaurant in Santa Rosa for the past two years. Christopher loved football and was a 49’rs football fan. He loved spending time with his family, fishing and playing basketball with his children. Christopher was preceded in death by his paternal Grandfather Florencio Moncayo in 1984; and his maternal Grandfather Fredrick Rodarte in 1997. Also killed in the accident was his fiancé Denise P. Chavez and daughter Jaelynn Mariah Rodarte. Survivors include a son Christopher Rodarte; two stepsons Derrick and Christian Chavez of Santa Rosa; his mother Barbara Moncayo of Clovis, NM; his father Joseph Rodarte of Clovis; a brother Jeffery Rodarte of Clovis; a sister Amanda Rodarte of Clovis; paternal grandmother Julia Flores of Clovis; maternal grandmother Jane Moncayo of Santa Rosa; a niece and nephew Makayla and Isaiah Martinez of Clovis, NM along with many other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa; Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, Nov. 12, 2004 from the Santa Rosa High School Gymnasium. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Jason Lopez, Javier Rodarte, James Rodarte, Eric Gutierrez, Daniel Howe, Mike Lucero, and Joe Manuel Archuleta. Honorary bearers will include Edward Romero, Matthew Martinez, Peter Lopez, Tony Moncayo, Bobby Chavez, Florencio Moncayo, Ben Hern, James Rodarte Sr., and Ralph Archuleta.
