Arturo Lucero

Arturo Lucero, age 82 entered a new life on December 16, 2007 at the Guadalupe County Hospital in Santa Rosa from a sudden illness. Arturo was born September 3, 1925 in Anton Chico, NM to the home of the late Castello Lucero and Frances Graston. He leaves behind his wife Margaret Lucero of the family home in Anton Chico, his sons; Julian Lucero and wife Faye of Cheraw, CO, Jose Henry Lucero of Anton Chico, Freddie Martinez and wife Sylvia of Tecolotito, daughters; Gloria Gonzales and husband Bernardino from Fabens, TX, Lorraine Ortiz and husband Jesse of Fort Sumner and Mildred Diane Valencia and husband George of Anton Chico. Arturo also leaves behind numerous grandkids and several great grandkids. He was so well loved by all. Arturo worked for many years in Colorado and made New Mexico his home in 1963 where he worked for several construction companies until he decided to make his own living as a farmer and a wood and post seller which he was very successful. He enjoyed fishing and was very well known in the community. As per Arturo’s wish his body will be cremated and no formal services are planned. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa
