Erlinda Kay Castillo

Erlinda K. Castillo, age 52, passed away October 5, 2004 at the Guadalupe County Hospital following an illness. Erlinda was born February 20, 1952 in Vaughn, NM to the home of Cipriano and Guadalupe Pena Tapia. She was reared and attended schools in Vaughn. She married Lorenzo E. Castillio in Vaughn on July 7, 1972. Erlinda enjoyed hunting and raising her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn. She is preceded in death by her parents,and infant brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband Lorenzo of the family home in Vaughn, her five children, Lorinda Castillo and Fiancee Joaquin, Lorenzo Castillo, Jr. and wife Denise, Luis Castillo, Lefonso Castillo and Fiancee Faith and Loretta Castillo, her five grandchildren, Courtney, Luzia, Leanza, Lefonso, Jr., and Joaquin. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, C.E. Tapia, Lila Gallegos, Florida Tapia, Dennis Tapia, George Cordova along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial rosary will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 from St. Mary's Church in Vaughn. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 11:00 am also from St. Mary's Church with Father Patrick Duffy officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Serving as Pallbearers will be her children, Lorinda, Lorenzo, Jr., Luis, Lefonso, and Loretta Castillo. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Courtney Castillo, Luisa and Joaquin Running Deer Manuel, Lefonso Castillo, Jr., and Leanza Martinez. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
