Nora Harrison

Nora Harrison, age 93, passed away May 3, 2005 at the Ruidoso Care Center in Ruidoso, NM. Nora was born August 19, 1911 just north of Cuervo, NM in True Community. Nora married William Lesley Harrison on November 1930 in Tucumcari, NM. She and her husband were long time cattle ranchers in the Cuervo area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Santa Rosa where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed her Church, Gardening, sewing and canning. Nora is preceded in death by her husband William Lesley Harrison in 1981. Survivors include her sons; Douglas Harrison and wife Bobbie of Santa Rosa, Edward Harrison and wife Alice of Amarillo, TX and Robert Harrison and wife Jodi of Ruidoso Downs, NM. She is also survived 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, her sister; Mary Yates of Santa Rosa, brother; Henry Yates of Tecumseh, OK, sister in law; Jean Yates of Oklahoma along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6, at 2:00 PM from the First Baptist Church in Santa Rosa with Rev. Van Espy officiating. Burial will follow at the Cuervo Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Lee Harrison, Bobby Harrison, Dubbs Harrison, Clayton Harrison, Ralph Harrison and Robert Harrison, Jr. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa. www.chavezfuneralhome.com
