Carlos Heriberto Anaya, age 70 a longtime Santa Rosa resident died Sunday, June 26, 2005 in Clovis, NM. Herbert was born May 4, 1935 in Pastura, NM to the home of Moises Anaya and the former Adela Tapia. He was reared and attended school at Pastura, Vaughn, and Santa Rosa. For several years Herbert was employed in California by Aeroquip Corporation, his work at the time was with the Apollo 11 Space Program. While living in California he also worked for many years as an auto mechanic. Herbert made his home in Santa Rosa in 1980, he owned and operated a cattle ranch near Pastura. He also owned and operated a bar in Pastura, NM for several years. Herbert served as Chief Deputy of Guadalupe County under the Andy Madrid administration. Herbert owned and operated apartment and home rentals in Santa Rosa. Herbert was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Pastura. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Bob Anaya, and a sister Odila Gurule. Survivors include his wife Bobbie Anaya of Pastura, NM; a son Anthony Anaya and wife Becky of Edgewood, NM; two brothers Billy Anaya and wife Darlene of Santa Rosa; Gilbert Anaya and wife Judy of Tucson, AZ; two sisters Frocela Hidalgo and husband Bob and Corrine Iacobellis and husband Mike all of Temecula, CA; three grandchildren Erika, Caris, and Carla Anaya all of Edgewood along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2005 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Santa Rosa; a second rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2005 from St. Helen Catholic Church in Pastura, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Helen Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2005 with Father Hoi Tran officiating. Burial will follow at St. Helen Cemetery in Pastura. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1pm to 5:30 pm at the funeral home and Wednesday from 9am to 10 am at the church.
